Miles walked today: 45 minute walk but the pedometer crashed!

Monday 15 April 2002

When I got up my stomach was hurting I think some muscles deep inside must have been given a wake up call yesterday.  Feeling confident, I jumped on the scales to see if there was any improvement and I am pleased to confirm there was so I am already looking forward to Saturday.

I had a go at making the mash and cabbage that M & S do.  I weighed the cabbage, 1/2 oz butter and potato and for the equal amount mine come to 356 calories per 450g compared to theirs which comes in at 180 calories per 450g.  Shall revisit my recipe and see if I can cut down those calories somewhere.  The only plus point is that mine is definitely cheaper.

Hacked off with my pedometer - its so fiddly to work I can't of set it correctly which meant I couldn't tell how far I had walked.  I know I went faster than usual because the dog (Freddy) was not keeping up with me.  Freddy has now got the idea this is a regular occurrence and by 3 in the afternoon starts moaning he wants to go walk.

I ordered the NYCB Workout and it arrived today in the post so as they say that's a keeper.  I am off to the library tonight to take back last weeks videos and to take out a couple more.  Well, I took out one on Pilates system 21 and Tracey Shaw's Salsacise which is a complete waste of money.  The fact that she and her side kick both wear black and dance on a multi-coloured floor against a black background doesn't help.  The camera work is a bit all over the place and just when you want to see what their feet are doing they switch to a head shot of Tracy.

After the library I went round to Tesco's to pick up dog food, time was marching on so I picked up some Linda McCartney burgers to add to the mash potato cooked earlier couldn't think of anything else that was quick and low calorie.  Also picked up some 'The Food Doctor' Vegetable and Chickpea Soup at £1.79 I thought it would be good, I shall say it was ok but it won't be making an appearance in my basket again.

My favorite thing at the moment and this even beats chocolate is Fresh Pineapple.  Tastes even better if after cutting it up you stick it in the fridge for a couple of hours.
