Monday 28 October 2002 The new BT phone doesn't work and neither do we have our new number. Rang BT who told me that they were unable to give the name out to the account holder due to data protection rules and that I would have to wait until I received the number in writing in the post! I rang 192 and got the number without any hitches. So it's just those who are the account holders paying the money that BT are protecting from themselves is it? Tuesday 29 October 2002 Countless problems with the new flat. The list gets longer. Wednesday 30 October 2002
Thursday 31 October 2002 Had a funny feeling that the Co-op would let me down and I was right. They didn't process my order so I am left with no fridge over the weekend. Went to Ikea this evening in Neasden, though I could have been in any Ikea as they are all the same. The one of many bad things about Ikea is that you have to physically go and take the items off the shelves, queue pay, queue again to have them delivered. So for my efforts I paid £20 for next day delivery between 7am-2pm. Friday 1 November 2002 Charlotte came round for lunch. I didn't have a kettle so it was a case of bringing her own lunch and nipping out to Starbucks for the coffee. The day bed from Ikea arrived at 7.30pm! At about 4pm I had had enough so we nipped out and bought a kettle and went to the Food Lovers market in Convent Garden.
Saturday 2 November 2002 Nice morning - went off to Oxford Street. Bought some things for the flat. Went to Liberty and The National Portrait gallery looking for a mug. Everything but. Sunday 3 November 2002 We went back to Convent garden for something to do and the food market was still on. Tried Valerie's for lunch. I was deeply disappointed, the menu is not quite the same and neither is the food as Patisserie Valerie's. I had the soup of the day which I won't be having again. Service not bad though. The good thing was the coffee. As we left it started to pour with rain so we nipped into the Theater museum (free admission) which was very badly laid out and not that informative but the live make up demonstration made up for everything else.
